Ive used a ton of dot skates usually on the smaller side, but these provide a level of stability that makes me reconsider my affinity for smaller skates. I always thought the larger the surface area the more noticeable the friction but these don't follow that expectation at all. The smoothies offer an effortless and swift glide with a perfect level of resistance on glass pads allowing for a more consistent experience. On cloth, the smoothies allow you to feel the unique texture of every pad you try them on. To me this is extremely odd considering that most mouse feet that have a padded absorption layer tend to have a noticeably muted feeling when being used on glass or cloth however, the smoothies give you both experiences on cloth or glass, A smooth muted experience on glass and a true to texture feeling on cloth. This may be due to how thin the smoothies are allowing for a shift when used on more exaggerated surfaces but somehow they accomplish this while maintaining tremendous durability which is the usual tradeoff with most thin skates on the market. These skates kind of change my perspective on everything i've become accustomed to. Unlike the normal tradeoff durability or speed these offer both, the durability of uhmw-pe but the thinness, speed, and smoothness of ptfe. I have owned 2 sets of these skates one included with a pmm mouse mod I purchased and these. The original set still don't need to be replaced on a large majority of my mice even after heavy use which I find to be very strange but no less welcomed.
