MOUSE SWITCHES
We understand that everyone has unique preferences for the feel and sound of their clicks. That’s why we offer the flexibility to customize your device by soldering different switches.
In Logitech PRE-BUILTS, we solder the switches for you. When you order a mod kit, you have two options:
Solder Yourself: For those who enjoy hands-on customization, you can choose to solder the switches yourself.
Hot Swap Cable: If you prefer a simpler method, opt for the hot swap cable, which allows you to change switches without soldering.
What is Soldering?
Soldering is a process used to join electronic components together by melting a filler metal (solder) to create a permanent bond. It’s a crucial skill in electronics, allowing you to replace or customize parts easily.
How does it work?
- Gather Your Tools: You’ll need a soldering iron, solder, desoldering pump or braid, and the switches you want to install.
- Heat the Soldering Iron: Plug in your soldering iron and allow it to reach the appropriate temperature (usually around 350°C or 662°F).
- Remove Old Switches: Use the desoldering pump or braid to remove the old solder from the existing switches. Gently pull the old switches out once the solder is removed.
- Place the New Switches: Insert your new switches into the designated spots.
- Solder the New Switches: Touch the soldering iron to the pins of the new switches and apply a small amount of solder to create a strong connection.
- Check Your Work: Ensure all connections are solid and free of solder bridges (unwanted solder connections).

SAPPHIRE vs. PTFE SKATES

These mouse skates are designed for top speed and smooth gliding. With rounded edges, there is no scratching on the mousepad. The new adhesive keeps them flat and prevents bending. At 0.8mm thick, they are a great for every mouse and pad. These mouse feet are originally designed for the G305 and were chosen because of the optimal weight to surface ratio.
SAPPHIRE SKATES
Our Sapphire mouse feet have an ultra-polished surface with a mirror finish, providing a smoother glide, low static and higher dynamic friction. The aggressive curvature gives more feedback on textured pads. The rounded edges ensure performance during off-axis movements. Easily sliding over any particles on the mousepad, so less disturbances in-game.
These mouse feet are incredibly durable, with a 9 Mohs hardness that makes them nearly impossible to scratch, except with a diamond. Made from whole single crystal boules, they are cut and shaped with diamond tools to keep the sapphire crystal structure intact. This skates last for a very long time.
They are 7mm in length, 5mm in width and 1.2mm thick. Not recommended for glasspads.
