MAGNESIUM WHEEL SWAP

You need a Torx T6 and Phillips PH00 screwdriver. Proceed at your own risk. You can damage the ribbon cable.

STEP 1: REMOVE THE MOUSE FEET & SCREWS

  1. Use a plastic pry tool or the cross screwdriver to carefully remove the PTFE mouse feet. This will expose the hidden screws beneath them.
  2. Unscrew all visible screws using a Torx T6 screwdriver.

⚠️ You can reuse the original skates but you need to be extra careful when taking them off.

STEP 1

STEP 2: OPENING THE MOUSE SHELL

⚠️ BEFORE YOU OPEN THE MOUSE: Be careful at this point. Both shells are connected with a ribbon cable.

  1. Unscrew the mouse bottom.
  2. Insert a plastic pry tool, the screwdriver or your nails into the seam between the top and bottom shells.
  3. Gently work around the edges, unclipping the internal latches.
  4. Slowly lift the top shell but do not fully remove it yet, cables are attached to the PCB.
  5. Locate and carefully unplug any ribbon that links the top shell to the bottom PCB.

STEP 2

STEP 3: DISCONNECT THE FRAME

  1. Unscrew all screws and lever out the inner frame.
  2. You will find the mouse wheel PCB on top.

STEP 4: REMOVE THE MOUSE WHEEL PCB

  1. Unscrew the two PCB screws.
  2. Unplug the cable.
  3. Push gentle from behind to click out the wheel from the frame.

STEP 4

STEP 5: CONNECT THE PIN WITH THE MAGNESIUM WHEEL

  1. Check the correct position of the pin.

STEP 6: CONNECT THE MAGNESIUM WHEEL WITH THE MOUSE WHEEL PCB

  1. Push the wheel inside the encoder. The position will be adjusted later.

STEP 7: CONNECT THE MOUSE WHEEL PCB TO THE FRAME

  1. Insert the PCB under the front hooks.
  2. Use the 2 screws that are not "pointy"
  3. Adjust the mouse wheel position so that it's as centered as possible

STEP 8: CONNECT THE CABLE

  1. Insert the cable in the way it is in its natural position. The white line showing to the top.
  2. Close the cable holder.

STEP 8

STEP 9: ADD THE FRAME

  1. Put the frame back in.
  2. Use the 4 "pointy" screws to fasten the inner frame.

STEP 10: CONNECT THE CABLE

  1. Insert the cable in the way it is in its natural position. The white line pointing to the back.

STEP 11: Almost done!

  1. Gently close the mouse.
  2. Fasten the Torx 6 screws
  3. Add skates.
  4. aaaand your are finished! Well done.
